NEW YORK January 2, 2008 – The Garifuna Coalition USA, Inc. a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization headquartered in New York City has today announced that its treasurer José Francisco Avila and Jerry Castro, executive director will appear on the BRONXNET television's LIVE show called "OPEN," which airs on channel 67 at 10 am.


The interview is scheduled to broadcast on Wednesday, January 9th, at 10 am on channel 67. OPEN is a television program that helps Bronx community organizations share information about issues and services, and provides a forum for discussion and debate, edify viewers about what’s happening in the Bronx and beyond. Viewers are invited to participate through phone or internet.

It’s quiet an honor to be invited to a show of the caliber of OPEN, The Garifuna Coalition USA, Inc. is seeking funding from various sources to establish a Garifuna Advocacy Center in The Bronx and this is a great opportunity to reach out to the community , said Mr. Avila
